When was the last time you gave your relationship the gift of true attention and care?

The Urban Retreat for Relationships might just be one of the best gifts you can give yourself and your relationship.

You will gain clarity on what true partnership is, and discover tools to nourish it. This short experience will likely reverberate for a long time.

Both couples and individuals are welcome to join, as during these circles, all processing will be done on an individual level. You will gain relationship tools and skills, but you will not directly talk about your relationship during the groups. This will help you preserve the relationship privacy, and help avoid unnecessary social comparisons among couples, creating comfort and safety for everyone in the group.

Homework will be assigned for couples to focus explicitly on their relationship after the groups.  This way, all couple-specific work is done confidentially only between you and your partner.

You can join to overcome relational difficulties, or to simply enhance your already strong partnership.

You will participate in 4 weekly 2.5-hour gatherings, in a welcoming professional setting in Winnipeg. Gather with us in comfortable chairs in a circle around a candle, and allow yourselves to slow down, relax, tune in, and just be you.

We strive to make our gatherings relaxing, safe, confidential, effortless, and restorative. You really don’t need to work hard during these evening retreats, and will likely leave rested and rejuvenated.

We harness the transformative power of connection, acceptance, and truth to help you heal and grow as individuals and to nurture your relationship.

There is no pressure to share or participate in any of the guided exercises if you do not want to participate. Your presence is always enough.

Our starting point is full acceptance of the essence of who you both are, and we will invite you to work on fully accepting yourself and your partner as well. Importantly, fully accepting who you are does not mean we accept harmful behaviour, even if it stems from the very heart of True You.

We present a clear ethical and practical framework that can become your relationship guide. As we outline the principles of thriving relationship in general, you can gain clarity on the unique way you relate in your close relationship.

You will be invited to look at the implicit principles and values that guide the way you relate to your partner and others, examine your personal relationship patterns, discover the specific relational chains that cause challenges in your relationship, practice empathic communication and assertiveness to honor yourself and each other in your individuality, and explore possible paths towards more harmonious partnership.

Typically, couples who are committed to improving their relationship will do so during these retreats. However, the art of love is complex for many reasons, most notably because of discrepancies in the level of commitment between two partners, limits in insight, or the deeply entrenched emotional tendencies that lead to an unwillingness or inability to modify patterns of communication and behaviour. Hence, we cannot make any promises about specific outcomes for your relationship.
