Exclusive Team Retreats
Does your team need some special attention and guidance?
Our Exclusive Team Retreats are based on the True You principles and methods, and are designed to bring more harmony to the relationships among your team members, increase your team’s cohesion, and increase the sense of job satisfaction and belonging for your team members.
We welcome executive, leadership, academic, creative, or any other teams that share a working environment or common mission. We also welcome any group of people that share a common interest, hobby, or bond. We also welcome groups of friends looking to strengthen their bonds, or have a meaningful fun experience of self-discovery and connection.
We welcome teams that are experiencing interpersonal challenges, teams that want to enhance their already strong working relationships, and teams that just want to experience some fun ways of bonding and team-building.
Our work together starts with an initial consultation meeting with the organizer. During this meeting, you will have a chance to see whether you feel comfortable working with us, and we will get a sense of your team’s individual and relational strengths and challenges, as well as your hopes for this retreat. We will also discuss how we could help you create more harmony within your team.
Our work with you will be custom-tailored to your team’s specific needs. We will have tips and suggestions for how you can help your team, but ultimately we will decide collaboratively on your team’s wellness plan and retreat structure. As we go, we will adapt to your team’s changing needs and circumstances.
We can do this work in Winnipeg, or we can organize a dedicated weekend retreat just for your team on our spectacular island at North Point Retreat, where your team members can just relax, rest, and renew, and bond through fun activities and team building exercises.
For teams and groups that would like to dig deeper into wellness, we will harness the transformative power of connection, acceptance, and truth to help each of your team members grow as an individual, and to nurture your team as a whole.
This work starts with full acceptance of the essence of each of your team members, and an invitation for everyone to fully accept themselves and all the other team members.
Accepting who everyone is does not imply we accept behaviours that are disrespectful, harmful, or discordant with your team’s mission and goals. We believe that each team member has a responsibility to behave in a way that is respectful, that does not create harm to others or the team, and that is aligned with the values and goals of the team as a whole.
Taking stock of specific patterns of interactions and behaviours that cause discordance in your team might be one of the carefully designed activities during this retreat.
Each team member will be invited to look at the implicit principles and values that guide the way they relate to others, discover the specific relational chains that cause challenges in their relationships, practice empathic communication and assertiveness to honor themselves and others in their individuality, and explore possible paths towards more harmonious working relationships.
Typically, teams that are committed to improving their team functioning will do so during these retreats. However, the art of relating and communicating is complex for many reasons, most notably because of discrepancies in the level of commitment between team members, limits in insight on the part of some team members, or the deeply entrenched emotional tendencies that lead to an unwillingness or inability to modify patterns of communication and behaviour. Hence, we cannot make any promises about specific outcomes for your team.
